This week in network management and infrastructure
we learned TCP\IP was never really designed with security in mind. Almost all of the TCP\IP standards have
issues in some way whether its that they weren’t designed with the internet in
mind, they’re just half-baked, or they are designed to combine old standards.

week 6
In week 6 of Network Management and Infrastructure, we read
chapters 8 and 9 in the CompTIA Network+ textbook. This week we mostly learned about what
specifically a DNS is how it works as well as how to troubleshoot and diagnose
problems with DNS. DNS works by delegating
to multiple servers called DNS servers the entire DNS system has to do with
sending commands to other systems linked to too the DNS system to do the work
for it in the most efficient manner. We
also learned about namespaces which are used to organize hard drives into a
hierarchical format to be more easily utilized.

week 5
This week we focused on learning how to use whois and tracert commands as well as
all about servers of varying different types.
This week we also learned more about routers and how they handle the
packets they receive and decide where to send them whether it be your phone or
your dad's laptop. Routers handle more
than just ethernet cords data packets can be transported through things such
as date over cable services interface specification, frame relay, and
asynchronous transfer mode become the norm for more long-distance connections. This week's chapters, however, didn’t focus
anymore on long-distance connections.
