In week 4 of network management and infrastructure we read
chapter 6 which discussed solid cables and stranded cables and the advantages and
disadvantages of each as well as read about how to properly set up a server
room and where to set up your wiring room in correspondence to the server room. One of the differences between solid cables and
stranded cables are that they are thicker and have higher conductivity and are
better suited to being utility lines due to their rigidity where stranded
cables are smaller individual cables put together they have much higher flexibility
then solid wires.
